Construction Updates Lilly Lebanon Project Supports Farm Safety Week September 22, 2023

More than 170 workers joined members of the Purdue Extension and Farm Bureau at our September 20 Safety Meeting to recognize Farm Safety Week, dedicated to driving safely around farming equipment.

The Boone County Farm Bureau and Purdue Extension staff addressed employees on the project. Farm representatives spoke about the importance of exercising caution on rural roads during harvesting season.

"One of the concerns we heard early on from local farmers was about roadway safety," says Jeff Wagner, Fluor Community Relations and Communications Manager for the Lilly Lebanon Project. "The Boone County Farm Bureau and Purdue Extension were gracious enough to be the guest speakers at our Wednesday morning safety meeting reinforcing our view of Safer Together."

The Lilly Lebanon Project team will continue to make safety a priority by further sharing the information with trucking companies who make regular deliveries. Safety is also covered as part of our on-boarding process and it an ongoing topic at smaller meetings in addition to safety messages.
